Home Specs Body Electrical Engine-Drivetrain Suspension-Brakes Interior Garage Contact & Favs Budget Restomod Mustang 1966 Ford Mustang This is my '66 mustang. This web site will be developed around my car and the projects that it is going through. I am by no means a pro and am learning along the way. I have made some mistakes and have had some fun doing it. My car is a 40 footer right now but I plan to change that. Hope you enjoy it. WARNING: I am sharing some of the projects that I have done and have worked for me. December 5th, 2013. Snow storms are here Thanks for coming by. I took what I believe will be my last run in the mustang for the season. Winter storms are heading this way. You know what that means right? Mustang project time in the garage! Current and Recent Events: Miles and miles of smiles: This season I spent more time driving my car than working on it. I know its a 40 footer which means it looks like a beater. I'm sure that something is loose under the car because I can hear it when I accelerate. The window seals are dried out and when it rains there are leaks. So there are plenty of things to keep me busy but with that said, driving the mustang is my favorite thing to do. This year I put nearly 3000 miles on the car. If you can drive your car, do it. You won't regret it. Making a list of winter projects: The winter for me is a time where I drive the mustang seldom and I try to make improvements where I can. This winter I was going to take on the body work and paint but I'm not sure I can do it cost wise so I am going to continue to collect the materials and parts that I need to do the project in the spring of 2013. I hope to have it done by summer. Until then I have a few things I want to do: -install my kick down cable -some head light relays -install new Radiator and schroud and snatch up any good deals I can find along the way. I've decided that a few upgrades when time, money, and opportunity allow is good thing for the mustang. Kind of like the EFI project I'm slowing getting ready for. New Pages: -In Dash DIN Stereo Install with Blutooth -Mods, the 'Do' and the 'Don't' if I were to 'DO' it again -C4 Transmission Rebuild -Dash LEDs Pages 'Under Construction' or 'Coming Soon!': -Mustang Reading Materials & Knowledge Resources -EFI Conversion -Kick down cable install -Head light relay install -body color poll, which way should I go? -MustangSteve Power Brake set up. -Cowl repair, a real repair (when I brave the body work commitment) -What makes a GT (Grand Touring) car? -Rear disc brakes, MustangSteve style -Rear package tray with speakers -Aluminum Radiator and Fan Schroud EFI conversion UPDATE: Yup! You read right. I am collecting EFI parts to swap this baby over and kick the carb. I've enjoyed driving the car but I feel like I can make it better. Since my mustang is a 'no value' mustang meaning it has no collector value to anyone but me. So with that in mind and keeping with the 'Restomod' trend EFI is in the future. As usual it will be done with a thrifty budget. So far I have spent $205 total for the parts I have collected. I will do up a detailed page of the whole swap and how and if it works. Update: I'm still collecting parts but I'm not in a hurry. When I decide to do this, I will have a page. First up, is clean up the parts that I have already collected. Then a nice coat of paint. You gotta drive these cars! I totally get that today's cars are safer, quieter, cleaner, etc.. But if you have one of these old cars you have got to drive them. Just my opinion. Even when your car is a beater like mine, people are always happy to see a car like this on the road. I try to drive mine as often as I can. Work, gym, family functions, or just down to the local home depot. Take the mustang! WARNING: I am sharing some of the projects that I have done and have worked for me. You may not have the same results. Use your own best judgment. Powered by Create your own unique website with customizable templates. Get Started...
